Wh Question

WH-question-কে question word বা প্রশ্নবোধক শব্দও বলা হয়। এই প্রশ্নবোধক শব্দগুলো “W’ এবং “H” বর্ণগুলো ধারণ করে। সেজন্য এদেরকে wh-question বলা হয়। WH-questions are also referred to question words. These question words contain the letters “W’ and “H”. Formation of Questions: 1. যখন আপনি বাক্যের subject সম্পর্কে একটি প্রশ্ন তৈরী করতে চান আপনাকে প্রশ্নবোধক শব্দটিকে বাক্যের শুরুতে বসাতে হবে। When you want to form a question about the subject of the sentence, you have to put the question word at the starting. Examples: Liza sings really well. -Who sings really well? Adil has done a great job. –Who has done a great job? 3. যখন আপনি বাক্যের predicate সম্পর্কে একটি প্রশ্ন তৈরী করতে চান, তখন তিনটি উপায় আছে: When you want to form a question about the predicate of the sentence, there are three ways: a) যখন মূল verb-এর আগে একটি সাহায্যকারী verb থাকে, আপনাকে প্রশ্নবোধক শব্দটিকে শুরুতে বসাতে হবে এবং subject ও সাহায্যকারী verb-এর মধ্যে inversion বা স্থান পরিবর্তন হবে। When there is a helping verb before the main verb, you have to put the question word at the starting and inversion will take place between the subject and the helping verb. She will sing a Bengali song. – What will she sing? b) যখন একটি “to be” verb থাকবে কিন্তু কোন সাহায্যকারী verb থাকবে না, তখন আপনাকে প্রশ্নবোধক শব্দটিকে শুরুতে বসাতে হবে এবং subject ও verb-এর মধ্যে inversion বা স্থান পরিবর্তন হবে। When there is a “to be” verb but no helping verb, you have to put the question word at the starting and inversion will take place between the subject and the verb. Examples: The film was – How was the film? She was – How was she? c) যখন কোন সাহায্যকারী verb বা “to be” verb-ও থাকবে না, তখন আপনাকে auxiliary verb “do” - কে তার যথার্থ রূপে বসাতে হবে এবং বাকি সবকিছু উপরোক্তভাবেই হবে। When there is neither a helping verb nor a “to be” verb, you have to put the auxiliary verb “do” in the form which would be proper and other things will be same as mentioned above. Examples: They go to their hometown every weekend. – Where do they go every weekend? She sings well. – How does she sing?
